New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cora Carmack follows up her trio of hits—Losing It, Faking It, and Finding It—with this thrilling first novel in an explosive series bursting with the Texas flavor, edge, and steamy romance of Friday Night Lights.
In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.
Dallas Cole loathes football. That’s what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.
But life doesn’t always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.
Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It’s obliterated.
Dallas doesn’t know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn’t know that Dallas is his new coach’s daughter.
And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.
The name of the game is Two Truths and a Lie!
It’s simple. There are three statements below for Cora (the author), Dallas (the heroine), and Carson (the hero). Two statements are true. One is a lie. You be the judge!
Hopefully it will help you guys get to know the creator and characters of All Lined Up. That is… if you’re good enough to parse out what’s real and what’s fiction (Ignore the fact that two thirds of the people below are in fact fictional).
Cora Carmack
Statement #1: The one and only time I’ve had sangria, I nearly fell off a cliff. These days I stick to tequila.
Statement #2: When I was younger, I exclusively read biographies. No romance or commercial fiction for me.
Statement #3: I wrote my first book at the age of eleven, and it was creepy as hell. Much doom and destruction and end of the world stuff.
Dallas Cole
Statement #1: I am the most ticklish person in the world. Like… there are certain places on my body that are guaranteed to make me pee if you tickle too hard. True story.
Statement #2: Before I got into dance, I really, really wanted to be in band. It was the only part of the endless football games that I didn’t mind. Band nerds, FTW.
Statement #3: I might have given a girl a concussion during a powderpuff football game my Junior year. It was supposed to be touch football, but well… *shrugs*
Carson McClain
Statement #1: I can eat absolutely anything (seriously anything…) except jelly donuts. Something about the texture and the gushing on those suckers just weirds me out.
Statement #2: I played tennis for one semester in high school. I was so bad and had zero ability to gauge the needed strength to hit the ball. To this day, I still hold the record for hitting the most balls over the fence during a match.
Statement #3: For the first month after I turned sixteen, I drove a tractor to school. I couldn’t afford a truck of my own, and my parents wouldn’t buy me one, but I refused to continue having my mother drop me off every morning. Surprisingly, it didn’t turn out that bad. The song turned out to be right… some girls did think my tractor was sexy.
There you have it folks! So now…in the comments below tell us which statements you think are the lies! I’ll randomly pick three winners from the comments to get an ebook of All Lined Up next Friday as well as post the answers – so make sure you check back!
