THE BEST NEW YEAR’S EVE . . . EVER
Psychologist Ellie Simpson is about to get a healthy dose of sex therapy. Leaving her cheating boyfriend behind, she has everything she needs for a quick rebound: Vegas, plenty of champagne, and a proposition from the sexiest man she’s ever seen. As her handsome stranger helps her ring in the New Year-over and over again-Ellie finds herself blissfully losing all of her inhibitions.Attorney Matthew McPherson is good at making women lose things, like their minds and underwear. With his athletic build and soulful eyes, he doesn’t need to use his powers of persuasion or famous last name to get a woman into bed. But when morning comes, Matthew finds Ellie is the only woman he can’t bear to leave-ever. It’s enough to make him wonder if what happens in Vegas really has to stay there.
Have you read the first book in the series? It’s only $1.99! Perfect time to snuggle up with a good holiday themed book!
Always putting business before pleasure, Cassie McPherson works hard for her family’s construction business. That might explain why she doesn’t have a date for the company Christmas party. But it doesn’t quite explain why she’s crazy enough to hire an escort for the event or – crazier still – why she’s dying to unwrap him like a present . . .
With whiskey-colored eyes and a killer smile, James is one gorgeous hunk who really knows how to fill out a tuxedo. He charms everyone, including Cassie. And when the night ends, the party doesn’t stop. As Cassie falls, literally, into his bed, James falls head over heels in love. Now he has to figure out a way to tell her the truth: he’s not an escort. He’s her family’s fiercest business rival. But all he wants for Christmas is her . . .
Describe Ellie in one sentence.
Ellie is an intelligent, dedicated, insecure over-thinker.
Describe Matthew in one sentence.
Matthew is a confident, female-loving, sensitive family man.
Favorite and least favorite scene to write in Ring in the Holidays?
My favorite scene to write was the scene where Matthew shows up at Ellie’s office and wants her to become his sex therapist. I love scenes that pull a lot of emotions out of my characters, and Ellie’s emotions are all over the place—confusion, anger, desire, frustration. My least favorite scene . . . dang, I can’t think of one. I really liked writing this story.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate—dark chocolate that melts in your mouth.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Can children be achievements? After my husband and I got both our daughters through high school, it certainly felt like a huge achievement.
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
As a writer, I’d like to meet LaVyrle Spencer. I absolutely love her stories. Hummingbird is my all-time favorite.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I love living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We get all four seasons, but a very mild winter—just enough snow to build a snowman and have a snowball fight, but not enough to keep you from driving to your favorite hamburger joint.
Do you have any special holiday traditions?
Every year, my daughters, and now my granddaughters, get together and make sugar cookies. We put on Dolly and Kenny’s Christmas CD and sing along as we roll, cut, bake, and frost. It’s my Mom’s recipe, and my youngest granddaughter and I love to sneak dough.
Favorite Word and Least Favorite Word?
Favorite word-Love Least favorite-Hate
Biggest fear?
People not liking my stories.
Deepest regret?
Not spending more time with my mother before she passed away.
Favorite memory?
That’s a tough one. I have too many wonderful memories to pick just one favorite.
Worst flaw?
Again, too many to choose just one. Ha! But a flaw that really bugs my husband is my tendency to drift off into my fictional fantasyland at any given moment—in the middle of a conversation, while I’m cooking (burning) dinner, etc.
Most annoying pet peeve?
I have a problem with people talking on their cellphones when they should be talking to the person in front of them—cashiers, store clerks, waitresses. I love my cellphone and freak out when I can’t find it. But owning one doesn’t give us the right to be rude.
If you could change one thing about yourself…what would it be?
Cellulite. No matter how much weight you lose or how much lotion you use, the lumps and bumps remain.
Either/Or Questions:
Chocolate or Vanilla? CHOCOLATE!!
Ellie or Matthew Hmm? This is a hard one because I love both of them, but I guess Matthew. He’s just so cute!!
Warm or Cold? Warm
Early Bird or Night Owl? Early Bird
Pain or Pleasure? Pleasure. Although there was that one time my husband brought home a paddle….
Outdoor or Indoor? Outdoor
Blondes or Brunettes? Redhead. Not only is my husband a redhead, but have you seen Sam Heughan from Outlander? Holy Smokes! Red is the new blonde.
Ketchup or Mustard? Ketchup
Coffee or Cocktail? Coffee
Texting or Calling? Calling. I like to hear my friends and family’s voices.
