I hope you wake to find this note with a peaceful heart and a smile on your face. The last time I saw you, you were drifting into your dreams, your hair wild around your sleeping eyes and I’d bent down to whisper in your ear how unimaginably lucky I am to have found you—how I love you.
I wonder if you heard me.
It’s been over twelve hours since I’d last told you, and since I grow steadily overcome and must leave to hunt, I wanted this note to be the first thing you found upon waking.
It is short. It is simple. But I hope you feel the sincerity behind this ink on paper. When I return, it will be you I hunt, but only with the endeavor to wrap you in my arms and not let go until you tell me.
Eternity has made me a very patient man, after all, and feeling your warmth around me for a few decades would be the greatest pleasure….
