I never thought I’d miss the screaming but I do. I didn’t think I’d miss the crazy hair and three day old yoga pants, but I do. I even miss the week old morning breath and stench of stale milk. I never thought I could be bored in Paris, but I can’t think of anything but coming home to you and our daughter.
In fact, I miss it all.
I miss the spit bubbles and the fart induced giggles. I miss the way your face glows when you’re rocking our daughter to sleep. I can’t get enough of watching you hold our baby.
I didn’t think I could love you more but every day surprises me. And I love it all. Every single bit of our life together is exactly what I want. Even the poo splattered walls of the nursery. I still remember the look on your face when that happened and can’t help but laugh.
So, get ready, Princess Sex Kitten. I’m coming home early. Why don’t you slip into something comfortable? My old college t-shirt is in my top drawer. Pull your hair up and take a long bath.
