There is only one thing in life that professional pastry Chef Priscilla Westcott values more than baking and wine, and that’s honesty. A quality she soon learns that her marriage lacks when her husband runs off with their next door neighbor.
Divorced and alone, Priscilla is determined to make changes in her life. She decides to approach her new goals like one of her beloved recipes. Surely with a little time, a dash of patience, and measured planning she can whip herself—and her life—back into shape.
However, when a new—and utterly delicious—neighbor takes up residence in the house that ruined her marriage, Pricilla fears that her careful world will fold faster than a deflated soufflé.
Trent Walker knows what he wants and his sweet, sassy neighbor is at the top of the list. He’s certain that the chemistry between them would be explosive, but Priscilla fears that an affair with him, however hot, could be a recipe for disaster.

My sweet CeCe,
I had a bad day at work today. I saw a man lose the love of his life in the line of fire and it made me think of us. Watching the pain in this man’s eyes took the breath out of my lungs. My chest tight. I couldn’t even process the simple thought without feeling like my world was falling apart around me. And that was what if that was you.
I love you Ce. After today, I want to make sure I say that as much as possible. I need you know that. I need those words to ring in your ear anytime we are apart.
Shit, I’m sitting here writing you a damn love letter while you snore next to me. But I can’t break my mind away from the possible what ifs. What if life didn’t take us both in the direction that led us to one another? I think about that shit every day. And it makes me hold you tighter at night knowing that my life is meant to be here. Wrapped around you. Kissing your soft skin, smelling the aroma of buttercream and wine. To stare at your beautiful sleeping figure and hear little snorts leave those perfectly stained purple lips. Who would have thought an over-indulging wine abuser would be so damn sexy.
I wanted to wake you up tonight and show you just how much you drive me mad every minute I spend with you, but I know from the shape of our kitchen it looks like you created a new recipe, which then, from the empty bottles celebrated.
I wouldn’t trade this life for anything. Because every little thing about you makes my heart full.
I have to be back on the job early, so I’m not sure I’ll get to kiss those lips when you wake up. I know you’re gonna have a pretty nice hangover, so I left you some aspirin and water. The coffee machine is set. I also hid the wine opener for you own good. When you wake up I hope you remember how damn much I love you.
Trent
P.S. Thank you for your note. But not a chance
Want to know the meaning of Trent’s P.S.? Keep reading! 😉
Trent,
I left you a glass of wine on the nightstand. I bet I would take your huge monster in my mouth more if you dipped that bad boy in Vino. Just a thought. Wake me up when you get home if you’re interested.
