*~*Love Note: Ben to Isla – The Day of the Wave by Becky Wicks*~*

Isla and Ben were just sixteen when the Boxing Day tsunami tore through their beach resort in Thailand. Just days after forming a life-changing bond, both were missing and presumed dead. Unbeknown to each other and haunted by one of the biggest natural disasters in world history, Isla and Ben are living very different lives, until over a decade later when a chance encounter throws them back together.Based on real life events, The Day of the Wave is a story of healing, learning to let go, and figuring out when to hold on with everything you have left.
Did you read Ben’s Love Note from last year?

My Isla.
All these years later, every time I see your necklace I think about the day I gave it to you, and how the second you put it on I knew we’d overcome something together that I’d still be struggling with, if I’d never found you. I think about how far you’ve come, and how far we’ve both come to reach this very moment. By rights we should both be dead. The tsunami killed a part of both us. It took your parents, my uncle and Toby, but it didn’t take the rest of our lives, or the time we now get to spend together. It’s you I have to thank for pulling me out of those final waves of depression and into a new life. I wouldn’t be here without you.
You’re an island, by name and nature. You’re my island, Isla. It’s you I will always swim to, and I hope you know you can always feel safe with me.
Happy Valentine’s Day, now and forever,
All my love,
Ben.
