The Amazon has surrounded me in color, with so many shades of green I don’t have enough names for all the variations, and yet the dark blue of your eyes is the one I wish I could see.
Those eyes that can steal my breath with one look, and turn my blood to liquid fire in my veins.
The jungle is never quiet, instead it’s a constant stream of sounds—animal, insect, hell, even the plants have a way of making themselves heard. But your voice echoes in my mind, the way you sigh between my lips, or moan my name when I touch you in just the right way. God, Rain, I miss you.
I wish you were here. I hate that we’re not together for Valentine’s day. Hate that I can’t feel your legs wrap around me as I press you against the wall in our kitchen as you try and cook. Hate that I can’t taste you, spend hours devouring you.
I’m so close to finding the lost city. I can feel it. But only half my mind is present. The other half is with you, always. I’m sure photographing your family of elephants is much more distracting, for which I’m grateful. The jungle is full of trials, dangers, and beauty, but there is so much solitude when here alone. And it’s what brought me to write you. I’ve been inside my head so much, and you’re the only one who can keep me grounded.
I count the days until I can bring you back here with me. I can’t wait to show you everything—the life that thrives within the green vines and the danger and the wonder. You’ll love it, and you’ll capture everything on your camera in that special way only you are capable of.
And, after I’ve shown you the lost city—which I’m days away from discovering, if I can survive that long—I will make love to you under the jungle canopy, with the stars breaking through the green. I’ll worship your body in every way I can, and just when you think you can’t handle enough, I’ll push you over the edge before bringing you back again.
