Darlin’ –
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve seen you, since I’ve filled you, since I’ve felt you wrapped around me. Being separated on a holiday is the worst, but I hope you got my flowers. I know roses are traditional but I’m hoping that bouquet of tropical flowers reminds you of our time in Hawaii, especially our ride along the coast. Just thinking about it has me all kinds of…okay, I’ll stop there or we’re going to need a video chat, immediately.
I miss you, beautiful. It’s a foreign feeling, not unpleasant, but an achy need. I know we’ve made no promises to one another but the distance-thing, it’s rough. I understand you live there and I live here, I just wish there was an in-between. Maybe Hawaii needs to be our destination although that’s not in the middle for either of us.
The tours coming fast, and life is speeding up, but we’ll make it work. Promise me? We. Will. Make. It. Work. We’re gonna have rough patches, darlin’. And I’m gonna be all kinds of busy, but you will always be on my mind, in my heart, and often, in my bed.
You owe me a dance. We should be dancing on Valentine’s Day not sexy Skyping (although I enjoy that time just not as much as being together in person). So, dancing it will be, with no argument! I’ll even let you pick the song although we both know your music knowledge is atrocious. You make up for it in a million other ways, and you know it’s one reason I love you. And love you, I do, darlin’, though the words came fast and the feeling even faster, I mean each one of them. I. Love. You.
Happy Valentine’s, baby. I know we’ll talk later. Maybe you can wear my leather jacket again and nothing else like you did the other night. Can’t wait to see you soon. There’s gonna be kissing, darlin’. Lots and often, and yes, I messed up Gone with the Wind again, just for you.
X( — not a full hug (it’s a back hug like one of those ones you gave me – I want another). ?
Sipping you soon, my fine wine.
Love, Tommy

Avid drinker of Coca-Cola, L.B. Dunbar loves the sweet things in life. Her affair with all things romantic began with her first book at the tender age of six: Goldilocks and the Three Bears. One can never forget her first! From there, the reading journey includes a deep love of fairy tales, medieval knights, regency debauchery, and alpha males. She loves a deep belly laugh and a strong hug. Occasionally, she has the energy of a Jack Russell terrier. Accused, yes, that’s the correct word, of having an over active imagination; to her benefit, such an imagination works well. Author of over a dozen novels, she’s created small town worlds, rock star mayhem, and MMA chaos. Her other duties in life include: mother to four growing children and wife to the one and only.

I LOVE that you do this every year! While this is my favorite note today, I would want a love note from Gavin Blake (still the best).
I have not read this book yet, but now I really REALLY want to do so. I love a silver fox!
Every time Tommy says Darlin’ it makes me swoon. He is so rough, alpha and sweet. This story was so romantic. I love LB Dunbar’s writing.
