I should be sanding a cabinet now, but I’m utterly distracted by you. When I built this workshop, with it’s large window over looking the lake, I only thought of the natural light it would fill my space with. Now, as I watch your hips sway with each step you take towards the end of the dock, this window serves an entirely different purpose.
Before I met you, I would spend hours on end in here and forget about the world outside. My life revolved around my work and nothing else. You were a beautiful, frustrating storm, and needed to be near you forced me out of my shell.
It’s warm outside for February, and the sun is shining. Two things I’m sure you didn’t miss and the reasons you’re outside right now. Without you, I would have missed both. This afternoon, because of you, I’m going to set aside my work and come join you on the dock. I look forward to a life of no longer missing out on the world around me with you by my side.
