I’m sitting in the church pew, typing this on my phone, counting down the minutes until the procession begins. You are surrounded by your friends, Avery and Bea and Penny. I’m sure you’re smiling for their sake as they fuss over your dress and your hair. But on the inside you’re hurting.

You’re hurting because neither of your parents are with you today.
