My dearest Lena,
That night we met at the studio head’s party changed my life forever. Everyone thinks that night was about my debut into Hollywood stardom but, in the depths of my heart, it was when I fell in love for the first time.
I know we can’t be together and our paths are forever destined to lead in different directions. I hate that our studio contracts dictate we have to be seen dating certain people for publicity and the studio image. If we starred in the same movie together it would be perfect and we could overcome these obstacles, but that can never be.
Meeting you has made me question why we were so willing to sign a deal with the devil and allow the studios to command every aspect of our lives—including our personal ones. I was once willing to do whatever it takes to become a leading man in Hollywood, though that now pales into comparison in loving you.
What I wouldn’t give to touch your silky skin, to caress your blonde curls, to wake in the morning and feel your warmth against me. For us to lay on a blanket and stare at the night sky, talking about our childhoods and dreams, learning every detail about each other’s lives. Yet these wishes can never be realised.
It breaks my heart.
You and I have both fought so hard and come so far to achieve what we have in Hollywood, yet because of a few powerful people at the helm of motion picture production and them dictating what we can and can’t do, you and I can never be together.
Although, maybe there’s a way …
All my love,
Reeves
