Title: The Business of Love (Eros & Co. Series Book #1)
Author: Kerri Keberly
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Romantic Comedy
Love is patient, love is kind . . . love is late for work. Again.
When the time-challenged god of love has six months to turn mortal enemies into lovers, things get real. If you’re a fan of heart, humor and magical Happy Ever Afters, you’ll love this mythology-inspired, laugh-out-loud Romantic Comedy that sparkles with wit and shines with the power of true love.
IT tech Liz Johnson thinks true love is total crap—until she locks eyes with the hot new marketing guy and her theory crumbles. Terrified his charm will break through what’s left of her self-imposed walls of solitude, Liz wastes no time hauling out the bricks and mortar to rebuild the fortress surrounding her carefully guarded heart.
Londoner Leo Simmons is God’s gift to women. Or so he thought. When his new co-worker refuses to give him the time of day, he decides to melt her icy glares just to prove he can. But despite her tattoos, ill temper, and the possibility she may be a cyborg, his strategy to get her into bed becomes a sole venture to make her smile.
Little do they know their new boss is actually, Eros, the god of love, posing as a mortal and using every matchmaking trick in the book to turn enemies into lovers. On top of an already impossible deadline, he must hit his mark before Liz’s fast approaching 25th birthday. Fail, and she dies, taking his immortality with her.

Dear Liz,
Remember when you used to think love at first sight was total bullshit? Your words, not mind, seeing as I, a proper and, dare I say, rakishly handsome bloke from London, would refer to the notion as bullocks. At any rate, I don’t mean to brag, but I knew I loved you from the first day we met. Go ahead and roll your eyes at me. I’ll wait. Yes, very good. Better?
What a day that was, yeah? Not exactly the ideal meet cute as they say, like in all the romantic comedies you insist are “so stupid.” In fact, you absolutely despised me. If I’m remembering correctly, you pegged me as that guy within the first week of our working together. To be perfectly honest, I deserved it. I was that guy. I was used to getting what I wanted, especially from women. I had never been told no, and, quite frankly, I was a real selfish arsehole. But I digress.
Where was I? Oh yes, the moment our eyes met. I didn’t know how or why or from where or when, but I knew you. Even if my head didn’t recognize you yet, my heart did, and in that instant, I’d found everything I didn’t know I needed. I had to play it cool, you understand, because what if my heart had been wrong? What if Monster Leo got his way? I shudder to think about the kind of man I would be right now.
But you saved me. You trusted me with your broken heart, showed me every one of your scars (and cyborg tendencies), and I promised to never let you down. I’d like to take this moment to reiterate my stance on the matter: I will never leave you, Elizabeth Johnson-Simmons.
Some days I still can’t believe that, after years apart (more that we could ever fathom), we found each other, and with only a slight bit of help from Cupid. 😉 As you know, our hearts are permanently (and finally!) bound forever. I wonder how the god of love is doing these days, by the way. I really wish he could see how big the girls are getting, and that irascible Golden Doodle of ours, Winston. Anyway, what I really want you to know, love, is this former that guy is grateful you called him out on his shite.
And this guy? He will love you in every lifetime he gets.
Love,
Leo

Kerri has always told tall tales. When she was in the third grade, she hid her glasses in the linen closet and told her mother a ghost must have stolen them. As you might imagine, that story didn’t end well.
Today, however, she tells more lighthearted tales, with happier endings. Fond of making people laugh, and forever a fan of folklore and mythology, she blends heart and humor with a dash of magic into her stories.
Kerri lives in Michigan with her husband, son and cat they lovingly but aptly refer to as The Maleficence, Mel for short.
