Dear Amanda,
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I really like your deadlift
And your snatch, too. 😉
And you say I’m not romantic.
I wanted to write you this letter since you’ve somehow become a traditional bride and won’t let me see you until tomorrow when you walk down the aisle. (On a side note, what kind of black magic did you work on me to get me to agree to a Valentine’s Day wedding? We’ve become such clichés!). I’m not used to spending time away from you anymore, so I’m going to go out on a hopeful limb and guess that you’re missing me too. Since you’re all I can think about, I figured I’d make use of this classy hotel stationery and let you know a few things:
1. Your ass looks phenomenal in those new tights you bought. Order more.
2. I’ve thought about it, like you asked me to, and I’m still a no on naming any future offspring Finneas. Back to the drawing board, babe.
3. I love you.
4. I’ve had strong feelings for you since the moment we met. Granted, those feelings were mostly negative in the beginning, but they were strong nonetheless. And now that we’re about to get married, those feelings have grown and evolved into things I can’t live without.
5. I can’t wait to be your husband, to vow to spend the rest of my life laughing and living and lifting (see how I worked that in there?) with you.
6. Being away from you tonight is going to be torture, but it makes me feel a smidge better knowing that I’ll be able to spend every night for the rest of my life with you. Well, I guess as long as you live longer than I do, which isn’t a given with how reckless and impulsive you are. Guess we’ll just keep our fingers crossed.
7. I love you. I know I wrote that already, but it’s the most primal truth I have to offer. No matter what else life throws our way, my love for you will be a constant.
I’m so excited for tomorrow, partly because this hellish nightmare will be almost over, but mostly because I’ll get to kiss you in front of all our friends and family and let everyone know what I’ve known for a long time: that while we’re both far from perfect, we’re perfect for each other.
Have a good sleep, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
Love Always,
Shane

Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. They learned a ton about each other through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly. They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.
