Your long, silky hair spills across my pillow, your lips, eyes and nose cast in shadows. You don’t need me to tell you this, but I will anyway, because you’re beautiful, Michaela, inside and out.
Sometimes I marvel at how far we’ve come together.
I never thought I’d meet my soulmate when I’d already promised myself to someone else. I thought I was on a path I’d chosen. Little did I know my true path was still waiting for me to step up and take it.
One of the hardest decisions I ever made was changing course and finally, truly seeing you. You were everything that I didn’t know I needed. I didn’t realise I was suffocating until I took a deep breath of your air. You were a quiet force of calm and kindness that I craved but denied myself for so long.
