My sweet Alyssa, We are riding in the back of the tour bus headed to the next tour stop on Valentine’s Day. Your soft breaths tickle my chest as you sleep. The cute little snore you swear you don’t do has reared its ugly head. A laugh escaped me and I almost woke you. Instead, you snort, continue snoring, and add in a little drool.

I know this doesn’t sound like a love note, but remember, I’m not the poet in this relationship. What I’m trying to say so ineloquently is that even with the snoring and drooling, you are the only woman I will ever want to make my chest slick with spit. Wait a minute…that sounds dirty. I didn’t mean for it to sound that way.

Let me just say this. You will always be the light in my darkness. It calls to me in a way that nothing in my life has ever done before. So, I hope that tomorrow night when I approach that stage during the song you wrote for us, you will say yes to the most important question I will ever ask you. Will you marry me? I love you with every beat of my heart. Rex
