Never trust a bad boy.
That’s what Beauty Influencer Lizzie Danvers tells her YouTube subscribers after getting dumped on Instagram. Lizzie may have the devil’s luck in choosing men, but she’s determined to prove that the age-old “once a playboy, always a playboy” theory is bulletproof. All she needs is thirty days and one sexy commitment phobe to do it…
By day, Gage Harvey helps his twin at Inked on Bourbon, tattooing butterflies onto every female under the age of thirty. By night, he works for New Orleans’ Special Operations Division, fulfilling a family legacy to protect his city. Relationships aren’t on his radar–until the hot-as-hell woman on his tattoo table glances up at him, a butterfly half-inked on her ass, and propositions him.
Gage should say no–nothing good ever comes from entertaining crazy women. But for the sake of playboys everywhere, he’ll take one for the team, and prove to Miss Lizzie Danvers that bad boys are the only men who will tempt you with forever.
TEMPT ME WITH FOREVER is the fourth book in the NOLA Heart series, but can be read as a standalone. It features laugh-out-loud characters, a bad boy who will sweep you off your feet, and a romance guaranteed to melt your kindles and make you smile. One hot cop and an HEA guaranteed!
Gage is so sweet and caring…

Princess,
I’ve got something of a confession for you.
Now I know what you’re thinking. I did the laundry, as promised, and you’ll be happy to know that I’ve kept the kids alive and breathing. (Mostly. Though if we’re going for complete honesty, I think they’re this close to breaking down and begging for a vegetable. And we both know that’s saying something).
No, this confession’s got something to do with you, with me, with us.
I miss you.
Short and sweet but there it is. I miss your giddy smiles when you sit down to film, and I miss how you always reach for my hand the moment a new idea strikes like you can’t wait to share your entire soul with me. I miss your laughter and your lips against mine, and fuck, but I keep holding my breath, hoping the front door will crack open and I’ll hear you call my name.
Then again, I’ve got three more days of missing you.
Three days of sleeping on your side of the bed, just so I can catch a hint of your perfume off your pillow. Three days of looking at our kids and seeing pieces of you in them—the sassy glint in Ari’s eyes, the sly curve of Sam’s grin. Three days, princess, might as well be a lifetime the way my heart aches from missin’ you.
Shit. I’m gonna wrap this up before it gets real sappy (I mean, more sappy than it already is), but princess?
Know that I’ll be waiting at baggage claim for you with my arms already wide open.
Love always and forever,
Gage
P.S., Chase your happiness, baby. Wherever it takes you, to whatever new dream you set out to conquer for yourself, chase the happiness and make it yours. Me and the kids are cheering you on.
Text from Lizzie to Gage at 10:07 P.M: Didn’t you know? My every dream begins and ends with you.
Maria is a big fan of books, nature, dogs, and pretty things – not always in that order, though.
By day, Maria is a historian who specializes in 19th century New Orleans and 14th century London. What do the two eras have in common? Not much, except for disease, scandal, and crime – Maria’s favorite historical topics. (For real, if you want to talk any of the above, just reach out!)
When not digging through the archives, Maria writes romances about strong men and the sassy women who sweep them off their feet.
Her favorite book will always be “Scandal in Spring” by Lisa Kleypas – she’s worn the pages so much by re-reading it, but will never give it up.
She loves hearing from readers, so feel free to reach out 🙂
