A sexy rendezvous with a stranger? Naughty hookup in the office with your rival? A one night stand? An indecent proposal you can’t say no to? No one knows what you need better than your girlfriends. And we all needed one thing.
So, we made a pact.
Take a chance. Have a little fun. And, let go. Finally. They say your forties are the new twenties.
Maybe that would be true if my ex-husband hadn’t turned out to be a lying, cheating, stealing ass who left me with nothing except my pride.
And it’s that pride that should keep me from accepting Phillip Conrad’s sexy, sinful, and way too indecent proposal to pay off the debt I owe him.
I should walk away. I should slap him. Hell, I should tell him exactly where he can shove his offer.
But I can’t.
Because Phillip and I have unfinished business and it’s long past time to see if that spark between us has the potential to become a full-fledged inferno.
Besides, if forty is the new twenty, and a second chance is really on the table, then maybe it’s not too late for some excitement. The sexier the better. And if I’m really lucky? Maybe I’ll get my happy ending after all.
Phillip’s note is so beautiful!

Dear Abigail,
Sitting at the table across from you right now, you have no idea that I’m writing this while you study for your mid-terms. I know I should probably have gone to my office to give you space to concentrate, but I can’t seem to take my eyes off you. So here I am, trying—and failing—not to watch you.
You think I’m going over quarterly reports because I promised you I was doing important work, too, so I wouldn’t be tempted to interrupt you. And this is important work. Because, Abigail, it will never not be a priority in my life to tell you how amazing, gorgeous, smart, sexy and completely incredible you are.
Look at you. All these years later, you’re finishing your college degree with such focus and determination despite everything and every reason not to. That is incredible.
But it’s only one of a million reasons that I love you.
Valentine’s Day is coming soon and it will be our first together.
Yes, I know we celebrated together once before, fifteen years ago. But that doesn’t count because we were kids. I was only a boy. A boy that was stupid enough not to fight for you and what we could have had.
And now, as you well know, I am finally the man that is worthy of you. And I will spend the rest of my life proving it to you and making up for lost time.
And that is why this will be the first Valentine’s Day that really matters.
And yes, I know what you’re going to say…
We don’t need a day on the calendar to prove we love each other. And you’re right. We don’t. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to spoil the hell out of you because you deserve it. Plus, I want to. And we both know I always get what I want. Eventually.
And you, my love, are the only thing I want. Today and every day.
It’s getting late now, and I can see your eyes starting to droop as you try to focus on your books. In a moment, I’ll scoop you up to carry you to our bed. I know you’ll protest, but I also know those protests will melt away with just the right touch.
I am the luckiest man in the world to finally be able to call you mine, Abigail.
All my love forever and always,
Phillip

I absolutely love this series and as any reader will tell you, the first book in the series has to grab the reader right away and leave them wanting more so they go in search of the rest of the series. I love Elena’s books and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
