Tali –
I’m not especially good at this sort of thing, as you know, but it’s our first Valentine’s Day, and the truth is that even if it’s a holiday created simply to Christianize a pagan celebration, it’s the first I’ve spent feeling awed by how lucky I am.
I think I knew from the moment you sauntered in last summer (failing to add sugar to my coffee and running your smart little mouth, which I now rather enjoy – the mouth, not the sugar) that my life was about to change.
I thank God every day that you took the job, that you somehow love me and…most irrationally of all, that you’ve agreed to become my wife.
I have no idea how I could have gotten this lucky, but I’m going to do everything in my power to be worthy of it. I’m counting the 159 days until you’re my wife.
All my love,
Hayes
