Does that make me a creeper? Probably.

Because not so long ago, your sleep was plagued with nightmares. You thrashed and cried, screamed and whimpered. And despite me being the cause of so much of your pain, it was also my presence that soothed you.

But now… Now you sleep peacefully. Because despite all of the horrors in your past, you’ve persevered. You’re the walking, living, breathing definition of strength.

I’m so proud of you, baby. Of all you’ve accomplished and all you’ve overcome. You took tragedy and hurt and betrayal and let them fuel your desire to become a better person. And in doing that, you’ve made me one, too.

And you’re mine. Now, always, and forever.

I love you, Little Mouse—and on some level, it feels like I always have. Even when I was doing my level best to tear you apart, I never really could, because as broken as it may have been, the tattered bits of my soul recognized yours.
