Auguri per un buon San Valentino, mio amore. Sono sicuro che Aiden si divertirà con i tuoi genitori permettendomi dì averti tutta per me, perché in questo periodo, mi sei mancata.

Quando sono andato in pensione, la mia paura era di avere troppo tempo libero. Fin troppo tempo. Invece no. Come noi sappiamo non tutte le ciambelle hanno un buco!

Riflettendo sulla mia vita, giocare per il Milan FC sembra quasi facile ora. Tra il trasloco, l’apertura della cantina, la fondazione Success through Soccer, Aiden e te, sono sempre impegnato. Non cambierei una virgola.

Amo la vita che abbiamo creato insieme. Amo il nostro angelo, Aiden e amo te. Mi hai fatto capire che nella vita c’è più del calcio. Sei il mio cuore, la mia vita, e in pochi mesi… mia moglie.

When I retired from professional soccer, I thought I’d have so much time. Too much time. At least, that was my fear.

What a joke! Though, as we both know, not all donuts have a hole.*

Looking back on my life, playing for Milan FC almost seems easy now. Between the move, getting the winery ready to open, my Success through Soccer foundation, Aiden, and you, I’m always busy.

And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love the life we’ve created together. I love our angel, Aiden. And I love you because you helped me see that there’s more to life than soccer. You are my love, my life, and in a few months…my wife.

I cannot wait to marry you. Though, I do not need a ring to tell me what we already know—I am yours. Only yours, always and forever.
