Sparks,
Valentine’s Day, huh? I’ve got a blanket laid out on the beach with a mountain of Twinkies waiting for you. Just so you know, I am not feeding them to you. Don’t get your hopes up, match hands. Kidding. I’d say something kinky involving the cream and a Twinkies brushing those lips, but I don’t want you rolling your eyes at my letter. Probably like you’re doing now. God, Sparks. I miss those days we used to sit out there, saying nothing, doing nothing; just letting the moon or sunlight bathe our skin.
If we held time in our hands, it would probably pass slower than the hour hand on a clock. I’d cherish it, and I hope that one day you’ll understand why I’d choose to stroll with you rather than run. And lately, that’s what it feels like we’ve been doing, running. I’ve never been scared of anything, never felt the feeling of my stomach falling until I met you. Then again that night I nearly lost you. And I don’t doubt it could happen again because of the many obstacles I face being Burdened. But, because of this, can we take our time? Can I hold you a minute longer and change seconds into hours? Can we pause the sun and let our nights last for days? No company. No insecurities. No sex. Well . . . I take that back. But, no worrying about who’s out to kill us next. Just us . . . for once.
It’s all gibberish, I’m sure. Impossibilities surfing through what you’d refer to as our atmosphere. But I need that, with you. Time. Because one day, there’ll be no me or no you to consume it. There will be only you. Or only me. And our time will be stolen by eternity. So, Sparks, let’s stop time. Let’s say to hell with it all and run away from everything.
Remember Alaska? Take me up on my offer. You won’t regret it.
You’ve let me love you. And thank you for that. Thanks for choosing me and letting me have you by my side. I thought I was set, wanting nothing, having everything. But then, you happened. And I realized just how insignificant to this world I was. You put a beat to my heart. Thanks for giving me meaning, Sparks.
