If you’re reading this shit, you probably came back from your run to an empty house. I took Sailor and Sam down to the pier to feed the pigeons. Technically illegal, but everything I do is so why the fuck not, right?
It’s been a while since I’ve written to you. You know I show you how I feel in different ways. Better ways. Ways that don’t require words. But sometimes, they’re necessary.
Sailor looks so much like you.
With her red hair and green eyes and lopsided smile. Seeing her grow into a three-year-old terror makes me want things. Crazy things. Things I didn’t understand until I met you.
Sam looks so much like him.
Not necessarily a bad thing. I heard often enough that the fucker was considered eye-candy.
But Sam is not like his dad. Not at all. He takes care of Sam. And his mom. And you.
I love you, Red. I don’t think I say it as often as I probably should. I thought I’d get used to the idea of having you by now, but I haven’t.
I love that you keep me on my toes.
I gave it some thought, and we can’t stay at the penthouse anymore. It’s far too small, and you always dreamt of a big-ass kitchen.
There are four keys in the drawer under this letter. Four different addresses. All here in Boston.
Nice houses. Big. New. Clean of bad memories.
Pick whichever one you like. The kids and I will follow you everywhere you go.
