I know when we first spoke, all you saw was some asshole you wanted to kick the shit out of and thanks to Keith, you got your wish. But let me tell you what I saw that first day.
Everything I’ve ever wanted.
I’ll be honest, I barely had a fucking clue what you were saying while you were chewing my ass out, because the second your icy eyes met mine, I was done for. I saw everything …felt everything in your gaze. Your boldness, your tenacity, even your fear. And I wanted it all from the very first. But you ran from me. Tried to put as much distance between us as you could. It drove me to the brink of Insanity.
Now I understand why, and fuck baby, what I wouldn’t give to take the pain away. It’s unfathomable what happened to you. But it made you who you are. The most amazing woman I’ve ever known.
I want to marry you, Dahlia. Not now because that would be insane, which is strange as hell because insane would be the perfect word to describe our relationship up to this point. How many guys can say to their friends that they fell in love with their girl when she kicked him in the face?
But crazy or not, it’s us. It’s our story. You and me and the rink, the mat, and the occasional hostile Mortal Kombat feud.
I’m yours in this life and the next. I loved you when you were threatening to chuck my phone out the window. I love you, now, while you’re sleeping peacefully beside me in my bed. And I’ll love you through every challenge and battle life throws our way.
We’re both a little broken, yet somehow we fit together perfectly. That’s no coincidence, baby. Because of you, I believe in fate.
So, sleep sweetly, Dahlia and know that I’m here. Right beside you. Where I was always meant to be.
