Giveaway Policy

I love, love, love to do giveaways!  Whether it’s on the blog, flash giveaways on facebook, a big giveaway with other bloggers and authors or with a tour…I love giving back to the readers that support True Story Book Blog.  There is nothing in the world better than an awesome book giveaway to a book lover!  But…to ensure everything is clearly spelled out, I have set forth the following giveaway policy, to hopefully avoid any misunderstandings.  By entering any of the giveaways True Story Book Blog takes part in, you agree to follow the guidelines set forth.

• All entrants must be 18 years or older to participate in a True Story Book Blog giveaway.
• Winners will be chosen randomly by using Rafflecopter.com or Random.org.
• True Story Book Blog is not responsible for items lost or damaged in shipping or items shipped from 3rd party sponsors. Replacement items will not be provided.
• Winners will be contacted via email for all giveaways posted on the blog.  Please make sure the email address you use is current. No substitutions allowed.
• For all Flash Giveaways that are held on our Facebook Page, the winner will be tagged so they receive a notification from Facebook, since I do not have their email to contact them.  All other giveaway guidelines apply.
• Your personal information will never be sold or shared by True Story Book Blog.
• Winners will have five (5) days to respond otherwise your prize will be forfeited.
• You must provide True Story Book Blog (when requested) with a viable email address for delivery of the ebook/egift card when an electronic      prize is won.  If an email address is not provided with entry into the giveaway, and/or winner/s fails to claim their prize/s within five days of being contacted,      they forfeit their prize/s.
• You must provide True Story Book Blog (when requested) with a viable address if you want the book/ bookmark/swag shipped to your address when      a physical copy of a book / bookmark/swag is offered in a giveaway.   If a mailing address is not provided with entry into the giveaway, and/or winner/s fails to claim their prize/s within five days of being contacted, they forfeit their prize/s.
• All prize/s are set in writing and cannot/will not be altered in any way.  If you do not want the prize you are selected to win, you have the option to refuse said prize.  It is up to the discretion of True Story Book Blog whether a substitute will be given in place, but it is not guaranteed.
• True Story Book Blog is not responsible for items lost and/or damaged during shipping.  All attempts will be made to work with the shipping carrier to obtain the prize item but if the item is not located or has been destroyed, it will not be replaced by True Story Book Blog.
• If you win a giveaway from an author/publisher, I will pass on your shipping/email information as soon as possible.  I am not responsible for when or how the author/publisher sends out the prize, but your patience is appreciated it.
• While all prizes are offered in the upmost confidence, True Story Book Blog has no control as to when or how prizes are sent out by third parties and will not be held responsible for their non-arrival.
• For large giveaways, all prizes will be shipped on or around the same date.  Once again your patience is appreciated, while I strive to have prizes shipped out as quickly as possible, I do have commitments other than the blog, and extenuating circumstances cannot be helped.  The process to receive all the winners information, package and ship all items won could take anywhere from 1-4 weeks (minimum), depending on the size of  the giveaway, number of prizes included, etc.  While I never want to make you wait longer than necessary, please do not assume that I am intentionally not mailing your prize.  Once all prizes have been shipped, the winners will be notified (via either email or facebook post).
• Follow up emails to check the status of delivery on items one is not needed. Unless otherwise notified you will receive your prize as quickly as possible…if you have not, that does not mean we’ve forgotten about you.
• Unless otherwise stated, it should be assumed that giveaway items are provided by True Story Book Blog.
• No limit on the amount of giveaways you can enter.  Unless stated, you can only enter each giveaway once (i.e. not under multiple emails, alternate names, etc.).  Any person caught cheating or trying to manipulate their entries will be disqualified.
• Pay attention to any specific rules in a giveaway, otherwise, entrants can and will be disqualified.
• Unless otherwise stated, all giveaways are available internationally.
• True Story Book Blog reserves the right to end, extend, or change a sweepstakes for any reason and without prior notice.
• True Story Book Blog reserves the right to disqualify any entrant as I see fit.
• Number of eligible entries will determine odds of winning.
• No purchase necessary, giveaway is automatically void where prohibited by law.

PLEASE NOTE:   Before entering any of our giveaways or claiming prize/s please take the time to read our Giveaway Policy below.  Winner/s are contacted as quickly as possible at the end of the giveaway term.  Failure to claim your prize within FIVE (5) days of the giveaway announcement post means you forfeit your prize/s.  To ensure you do not miss any of our emails, please approve our email address (TrueStoryBB@gmail.com) to guarantee they will not be sent to your spam/junk mail folder. Failure to read and understand the policy prior to winning does not excuse you from the terms set forth.  True Story Book Blog has the right to change the above policy at any time.
