Callie:  Declan is the perfect balance of sexy, romantic and playful.

Lisa:   I think your flipping houses hobby is unique and so awesome – is there a particular house that was your favorite to flip? Is there any part of the process that you love more, a certain room that you always have fun fixing up?

Declan:  Callie’s inspired quite a few songs. She’s heard them. 🙂 My favorite song is always the one I’m currently writing. My favorite instrument is the piano.

4 “bossy” “little things” “I’ve adjusted my sails” Kisses

It’s official – I’m moving to New Orleans! I cannot stand being separated from the Boudreaux family any longer. With each and every book in the Boudreaux Series I fall more and more in love with these characters…Eli made me drool in Easy Love…Rhys made me swoon in Easy Charm and Declan just rocked my face off. Each book is based off of a different set of couples, so they can technically be read as standalones, but the story lines continue to build off of each other the further we go into the series (which is part of the wonderful magic that I love about series in the first place!), so of course I recommend reading all of them. Plus…if you love romance in any way shape or form…then you absolutely cannot go wrong with these books!

Calliope Marie Mills…this girl is hell in heels and I loved her to pieces! I really connected a lot with Callie…we actually have a lot in common…both 5’9” (yay tall girls!)…both only children (we’re a special breed…what can I say)…both blondes…she’s very independent, very strong minded and very determined, which I like to think I am as well, she just pulls it off better than I do! After basically raising herself in New Orleans, she got out the first chance she had and never really looked back…until she had to. Coming back home brings up a lot of ghosts for her…mostly the emotional kind. My heart hurt for her…she is so strong in so many ways, but emotionally she is very closed off and for good reason too. I like that once she put her mind to something, she went at it full force…she gave everything her best effort and I appreciated that about her. Her attitude and personality is what really pulled me to her…she’s kind of a bad-ass-take-the-bull-by-the-horns kind of girl and she doesn’t show her vulnerable side…like ever. But one dreamy musician got her to break down her walls.

“I want to talk with you, learn you, lose myself in you. All of those things. And I don’t have any experience in that shit, but damn it, I want it with you. Because those little things, Callie? The talking as I walk you to your car, or laughing with you as we demo my house? Eating pizza on the porch? They aren’t little things to me. I’ve never done that with any other woman that I’m not related to by blood. I never wanted to.
“Until you, and it’s confused the hell out of me. All I want is a chance to start this over with you. We did it all backwards, and that’s on me. I get it. But damn it, let me try it again, because if you don’t, it’ll be the biggest regret of my life.”

Declan Francis Boudreaux…the Boudreaux boys, they’re just made out of something special. Charmers…the lot of them! Dec is the baby boy of the family, second youngest sibling and he’s a little different from Eli and Beau – they are all business and Declan is the creative type, but that was one of the things I loved best about him. Then again I love a lot of things about Declan…he’s got the southern accent combined with the fact that he can speak French perfectly (don’t ask me why that does things to me…lots of amazingly wonderful things). He’s also a giant, just like his brothers – well, 6’4”, but still…that’s enough for me. Just yum! And the yumminess doesn’t stop there…clearly he’s got the TDH (tall, dark and handsome) thing down and the signature Boudreaux golden eyes that I could stare into all day. He’s charming and smooth, he’s funny and has so much charisma it should be illegal…but he’s also very chill and laid back. But above all things his talent and passion for music was probably the thing that made him most attractive…there is just something about a guy who can play an instrument (I’m not picky!) and sing…that’s just instant 1 million swoon factor points.

“What?” she asks with a grin.
“I love the way you shrug into your badass,” I reply before kissing her forehead. “And I love that I’m the only one who gets to see you when you take it off.”

Oh…Callie and Dec are just…fun! Fun seems like a very simple word to really describe them…but it’s the most concise description of what their relationship was and what they made me feel. There are no pretenses when it comes to Callie and Declan…they are genuine, real and down to earth…granted they have two different personalities but in this case, opposites attract very well. Their passion was insane…I mean they practically combusted and I loved how in lust they were with each other…it was addictive. I also loved the simple things…the way he walked her to her car and made her feel safe, how much she enjoyed helping him renovate his house, how they were perfectly comfortable doing anything and nothing…just as long as they were together…that’s really all that mattered. Everything with Callie and Dec just felt more…more intense, more unique, just more – and maybe it was because neither of them had really felt this kind of connection before, so it was more for them in every sense of the word. I also l-o-v-e-d more than words when there was a surprise connection to the With Me In Seattle Series…I didn’t expect it or even see it coming but it was so flippin’ awesome.

“Tonight wouldn’t have been half as special without you. And not just because of all of this, which I love, but because when I’m with you—”
He kisses my hand and squeezes it three times. “When you’re with me?”
“I just feel better. I feel more.” His eyes widen and then darken. “Emotions are brighter, and that’s the only way I can describe it.”
“I think that’s a beautiful way to describe it,” he whispers before he pulls me in and kisses the hell out of me. “You are more, Callie. We’re more.”
I nod and brush my fingertips down his cheek, his neck. “I like it.”
A slow smile spreads over his sexy face. “I like it too.”

Kristen Proby packs a deadly force…the sex and the swoon. She feeds my inner dirty book whore lover just right…every time – I don’t know how she does it but it’s fantastically sensual and never, ever gets old! And just when she lulls me into my sexy happy place, she hits me with all the right things to melt my heart – it’s the perfect combination and I simply cannot stop myself from loving it. The angst was minimal, but I don’t read Kristen for angst…I read her for pure, unadulterated, amazing romance. The relationships that she develops with her couples is one of my favorite feels of all time…it’s a very unique and indescribable experience, but my heart just feels like it’s going to burst from being so blissfully happy. The other thing she writes beautifully that I love almost as much as the romantic relationship…the family dynamic. It doesn’t matter who is involved or what they were doing…the way the Boudreaux’s interact is just one of a kind. The siblings have this wonderful and unique bond that I absolutely cannot get enough of and their mother is just as amazing as her children. Even their father…while he is not physically present in this book, his memory always serves a purpose and it just makes me adore them that much more.

“What do you need?”
He sighs and rubs his fingers over his mouth.
“I need you to talk to me too,” he replies softly. “I need your brutal honesty, always. I need your body against me every day, and I need to be inside you more than I need my next breath.”
“That sounds good to me,” I whisper.
“I need music, Callie. It’s my soul. It’s been my only constant, until you.”
“You’re damn good at it,” I reply echoing his words. “What else?”
“I need your friendship. Your patience. I need my family, even if they are a pain in my ass most of the time.” He smiles. “I need to protect you, keep you safe. And I know this is going to piss you off a little, but I need to take care of you.”
“I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I mean, I like taking care of myself because that’s all I’ve ever known, but I’m adjusting my sails, and getting used to you taking care of me.”
“Good.” He sighs, the tension finally leaving his tall, lean body. “I just need you, baby.”

The ending was magical…I mean it never really took a whole lot to take me to my happy place with these two but I was giddy over everything that happened. It was exactly what I wanted for them and I don’t think I could love it more if I tried. I never really like finishing a book I enjoy, but I can’t lie…part of the fun of getting to the end of Kristen’s books is finding out which sibling is going to be next…and it’s not who I expected but I’m still super excited. It’s Charly’s turn! And her guy is British – be still my beating heart! I’m ready to count down the days until Easy Kisses comes out in March!

“I didn’t need it a year ago.” I shrug and twirl a long string of cheese around my fork. “But I’m much busier now, and Sam is getting more involved in things, so it’s time to have some help.”

“No, you won’t.”

He sits back in his hair and tilts his handsome head, watching me. “Okay. You handle it.”

“I will.” I nod once and sip my Coke. “I wonder if I should specify in the ad that felons aren’t welcome to apply.”

“Gabby, let me handle this!” Eli exclaims, and I can’t help but dissolve in a fit of giggles.

“I’m teasing. It sure is fun to get you all riled up.”

“Most wouldn’t dare,” Kate says good-naturedly. “I wonder what people would say if they knew that he’s nothing but a big softie.”

“I will take you over my knee, Kate,” he murmurs to her, and Rhys tenses up beside me, but Kate just laughs and leans her head on Eli’s shoulder.

“Right. Except you have this thing against spanking me, so I don’t think that’ll happen.”

Eli’s lips twitch as he buries them in Kate’s hair and kisses her head.

“I don’t mind being spanked,” I add and eat a chip loaded with cheese and beans, just as Eli’s eyes go cold again, pinned on Rhys, who simply laughs beside me.

“I don’t need to know this,” Eli growls.

“It’s not like he leaves marks. Well, they don’t stay for long.”

Kate is laughing like a loon into her hand, Rhys is smiling widely, and Eli looks like he’s about to spit nails.

4 “Good girl” “inner flirt” “Look at me.” “trust” “not a baby” Kisses

So…if I thought I loved the Boudreaux Series before…Easy Charm made me fall so much harder. Good freaking gravy…where do I even start?!!? When I read the epilogue of Easy Love that I was in love with the set up…it was perfect…and I just knew with Kristen’s brain behind it…the execution could send me over the moon. And I was totally correct. So…million dollar question – do you need to read Easy Love to read Easy Charm? Not really…but it’s helpful. The Boudreaux Series is shaping up to be similar to the With Me in Seattle Series…each book builds off the other…and you get to know the characters better, but they could all be read as standalones. But if you’re a series whore like me…then you definitely want to read these books in order – plus they’re ah-mazingly addictive and I highly encourage you to fall in love with the Boudreaux’s like I have! 😉

Gabrielle Boudreaux…do not let her size fool you, Gabby has more strength in her little pinky than her 6’4” brothers do in most of their body. She’s a pint sized fierce little ball of sass and cuteness and I loved every second of her. While she may be the baby of the Boudreaux family, she had to grow up pretty fast…motherhood will do that to you, but then again, I think Gabby was just born to be an amazing mom. Samuel Beauregard Boudreaux is one of the most delightful seven year olds I have ever read and that’s totally because of Gabby…her love and dedication to her child shine through in everything she does and I adored that about her. The only other thing Gabby is truly passionate about, aside from her family, is her job…and it’s funny because her job is connected to her family. Turning the home that had been in their family for generations into a successful inn took a lot of hard work on her part and I truly admired that about Gabby, she never wanted to sit back and let other people take care of her. She’s so self-assured and independent and it just makes me love her more…and I know it’s what caught the eye of a certain Cub’s pitcher.

“I’m glad that you do something that makes you so happy.” His arms tighten around me in a firm hug. “You deserve happiness, Gabrielle.”
“So do you,” I reply. “Are you happy?” He doesn’t answer me for a long minute. I finally lean back and look up into his deep green eyes. “Are you?”
“I will be, when I get your sexy ass into the house where I can spend the rest of the twenty hours we have left to ourselves lost in you.” He stands, easily carrying me toward the house. “I’m going to make you scream, baby.”
“I’m not a screamer.” And it didn’t escape me that he didn’t answer my question.
“You’re about to be.”

Rhys O’Shaughnessy…mmmm…even his name does things to me. It might also be because I remember a particular lovely scene where he’s telling Gabby a story with an Irish brogue and that just makes me want to lick him. I have a weakness for men with accents. #PleaseDontJudge 🙂 Luckily…the accent is just one of many things that is hot about Rhys…from the sexy half smirk to his gorgeous green eyes…to the drool worthy body that baseball has given him, he is sex on a stick and I was in lust with Rhys from the very beginning. He really does live up to the title of the book…I can attest to that – I was charmed, seduced and swooned clear out of my mind and I will turn around and beg for more every day of the week. There is so much to like about Rhys, I don’t even know where to start…he is such a strong man, he’s overcome a lot both personally and professionally and fought hard for what he has. His strength and determination is incredibly sexy and only made me love him more. Rhys is one of those guys that once he puts his mind to it…there is really no talking him out of it and even better, he always gets what he wants. He has such a huge heart and he doesn’t do anything half way…he’s dedicated, kind, sweet, so loving…and yet he has never been in love. But this sexy beast of a baseball player had to fall under the spell of the baby of the Boudreaux family…but I don’t think Rhys stood a chance against Gabby from the start.

‘“Why is this so easy with you?” I ask, staring at the ceiling, waiting for my heart to return to normal.
“Maybe I just know what I’m doing?” he replies sarcastically.
“Well, you do, yes.” I chuckle and turn on my side, facing him. “But I’m comfortable with you. It’s amazing, but it’s also just…easy.”
“Because we trust each other,” he replies and gently runs his fingertip down the bridge of my nose. “I feel like I’ve known you a long time. This might sound silly, but I feel like your heart and my heart are very old friends.”
I blink at him as my heart swoons. But he’s exactly right. I trust him. I feel like I’ve known him forever.
This feels like…home.’

Gabby and Rhys are so perfectly paired…the way they complement each other is just like two puzzle pieces that just click together. I don’t even know how else to describe it…you’ve got Gabby who has very limited experience with men and Rhys who…well, he’s a pro baseball player, he’s not angel – but he’s not interested in another chick just looking for fame and fortune. The way they came together was so natural and simple…but I think what won me (and Gabby) over the most was the way Rhys was with her son Sam. Talk about a quick way to send a girl to swoonville…watching a sexy man be absolutely adorable with a kid – let me just dissolve into a puddle of mush real quick. Gabby brought out a softer side of Rhys…and I love how he doted on her, it’s something she’s never experienced and truly deserves. Seeing his tenderness for her…how gentle he could be…how much he loved to touch her, especially her hair…it instantly made me smile and just did wonderful things to my heart. And then he’d turn around and say something incredibly hot and dirty…and well, clearly, I’m just a lost cause when it came to the way Rhys felt for Gabby.

“Fuck me, you’re beautiful.”
She tries to look shyly down, but I catch her chin in my finger. “No, don’t look away from me. You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. There are seven billion smiles in this world, and yours is my favorite.”
Her smile widens. “Thank you. That makes me feel…special.”
“You are special.” I kiss her forehead, then her nose. “You are beautiful.”
“You are charming.”

The beauty of a Kristen Proby book, for me, is the falling. It’s so subtle…so effortless, like I don’t even realize it’s happening until all of a sudden my heart feels like it’s going to burst from all the love that I have for these two beautiful people. It’s one of the feelings I live for and one of the many reasons why I read romance and Kristen has totally and completely perfected it. It’s why she continues to be one of my favorite authors…I just can’t get enough of the feels she gives me! And the goodness so doesn’t stop there…please, we’re just getting started – there were so many laugh out loud moments in Easy Charm, I practically had a smile plastered on my face the entire time. That’s another one of many joys about Kristen’s books…I could probably die from an overload of good feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a good angsty book, but I love a good, super sexy romance just as much. And not that there wasn’t angst in Easy Charm…it’s just not to the point where I feel like my heart is going to be ripped out. I will say, the angst with Gabby and Rhys felt like a storm brewing that I knew was going to get bad but as it continued to build, the knot in my stomach kept get tighter and tighter…I almost wanted to hide until it was all over. A good portion of that was due to Gabby’s actions. It wasn’t like I was mad at her, because I got her reluctance and fear…but I just kinda wanted to put my hands on my hips and give her a dirty look for it.

‘“I love you, Gabby. You’re every hope, every dream I’ve ever had, and I didn’t even know it until I met you. No matter what happens in our life, every day I get to be with you is the greatest day of my life.”
Tears are now rolling unchecked down my cheeks. I can’t take my eyes off of him.
“You make me believe that love isn’t hard because you love everyone in your life so effortlessly.” He cups my jaw in his hands, his fingers mingle in with my hair, and his thumbs brush the tears form my face.’

The ending snuck up on me…I was in my happy little bubble and could have kept reading about Gabby and Rhys for oh…I dunno, forever…but I got my beautiful big red bow happy ending – more than I ever could have dreamed for Gabby and Rhys…and it was perfect. So, my favorite part about ending one of Kristen’s books…well, the only good part about it ending (because I never want them to end – but I digress)…is finding out who is going to be next. And I was not disappointed!!! It’s Declan! Gabby and Declan have a…special relationship. Declan himself is very unique…he’s not like Eli and Beau, but that doesn’t make him any less dreamy…he’s the musician and he’s just a more toned down version of their extreme alpha male…but the hints that got dropped about his book…well, as usual, I’m dying for his book! I will be desperately awaiting Easy Melody!

4 “Bad idea” “words” “I’ve adjusted my sails.” Kisses

I absolutely adore Kristen Proby‘s books with an unending passion. Everything about her novels is why I love romance so much…I cannot explain the hypnotic powers they have over me…and when I heard she was coming out with a new series…I totally did a happy dance. Easy Love is just another notch in Kristen’s belt for books that completely sucked me in…I devoured this baby…read it in 24 hours because I could not get enough of Eli and Kate and how amazing they were. I never wanted it to end. If this is just the beginning of the Boudreaux series…good lord ladies, we’re in for one hell of a ride!

Eli Boudreaux..O-M-G! I know for a fact that Kristen can write some amazing BBF’s (hello, have you met the men in her With Me in Seattle Series?!?)…so I was prepared to swoon, but oh holy heaven…I was not prepared for Eli. I think he deserves a list:

1.) He’s 6’4”…excuse me while I drool. A lot.
2.) He has an amazing, incredibly sexy accent
3.) I love my good ole’ Southern boys
4.) Gorgeous Whiskey colored eyes that I could gaze into for days
5.) He’s a manwhore – my weakness!
6.) The man was born to wear a suit…just yum
7.) His deliciously fucking filthy mouth and all of the sinful things that come out of it…and his beautiful smile…and how good he can kiss…pretty much anything to do with his mouth is amazing.
8.) He’s a charmer 😉
9.) Incredible brother and son
10.) Oh and he has a nice ass! 😉

If only this scratched the surface of how blissfully fantastic this man is…but it doesn’t. He’s kind…generous…sweet…intelligent…charismatic…thoughtful…I could literally go on for days, Eli blew me away. Something I couldn’t get enough of was the love he has for his siblings and his mother. They are a very close family and it’s apparent with every interaction we see. Even through the tough, business-as-usual exterior, Eli has a huge heart and his capacity to love…and it took a beautiful redhead to show him that he was capable of loving.

‘“Say fuck, Kate, it’s okay.”
“I don’t swear,” she whispers. “I have enough Catholic guilt as it is.”
“Just this once. I won’t tell.” My lips are tickling hers as I talk, and I feel the shiver run through her. She licks her lips and swallows thickly, and I’ve never been so hard in my damn life. “Say it.”
“Fuck,” she whisper, and I crush my mouth to hers, kissing her with all the pent up frustration and need that I have inside me.’

Mary Katherine O’Shaughnessy…oh Kate didn’t know what she was getting herself into when she decided to come to New Orleans. As much as I love Kristen’s ability to create endlessly delicious BBF’s…I think I equally adore her heroines…and Kate’s a superb addition to that group. There is so much to love about Kate it’s ridic…the fact that she doesn’t cuss – it sounds silly, but trust me, it’s the cutest/funniest/most adorable thing on the planet. Her friendship with Savannah and Declan (Eli’s twin siblings)…she had a distinct and unique relationship with each twin and I loved both of them to bits. Her strength…her tenacity…her sass…her humor…I flat out could not get enough of her – she was greatness. The more I learned about her, the more I wanted to make her my bestie…she’s so down to earth and sweet…it’s blatantly obvious why Eli never stood a chance against her charms.

‘He laughs and cages me between his hands. “I don’t want to fuck this up before we really get started, Kate.”
“And then you say things like that that make me swoon and my panties all wet.”
“Are your panties wet, Kate?”
“My panties have been wet for a week, Eli.”
“Good.” He kisses me softly, ending it on a growl. “Please tell me you can get yourself to bed.”
“I can’t get myself to bed.” I grin and bat my eyelashes. “You might have to help me.”’

Oh the amazingness that is Eli and Kate…the bliss…the joy…I challenge anyone to not completely fall into all that makes them spectacular. I loved their connection from the start…the build…the sexual tension and electric chemistry…and good lord in heaven the passion. Eli and Kate are so hot…and I couldn’t help but enjoy every second. I don’t think Eli has an un-sexy bone in his body and both myself and Kate benefitted from this immensely. It’s primal and sensual and good-god-yes-more-please-thank-you! 🙂 But it wasn’t all about the sex…I promise! (that was just the icing on the cake!) I loved that he tried to get her to cuss and that she can’t get enough of his ass (I’m telling you…it’s a great ass!)…I loved all the little ways he showed her that he cared or was thinking about her…I loved their banter and playfulness…I loved how much he loved feeding her (trust me…it sounds strange but it’s amazing!). It’s interesting because they have this cute, fun friendship/friends with benefits thing…that is more relationship-y than either of them care to admit to but it works for them and what they have. Eli and Kate are just flat out easy…effortless…and I say that as the highest form of compliment…there’s no muss, no fuss just all goodness and all the feels that make me swoon.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” he asks quietly, his accent thicker, perfect for this lazy, easy moment.
“Nothing.”
“Now, that’s a lie,” he replies with a soft smile. “I can hear your wheels turning.”
“I was thinking about you.” I squeeze his hand a little tighter, and then bring it up to nuzzle it with my cheek. “And that I’ll miss you when I leave.”
He grows quiet for a moment, not responding at all, and then he surprises me.
“I’ve enjoyed every moment with you, Mary Katherine O’Shaughnessy,” he says, making me smile at the way he says my last name with his accent. “You are a special woman.”

So not only am I falling in love with Kate and Eli throughout Easy Love…I’m also falling in love with the rest of the Boudreaux clan…and seriously, I am so excited for each of these characters to get their own book…I pretty much need them right now. #NotKidding All the little details and hints that were dropped about each character…kind of giving clues as to the possibilities that lie within were like little gems that I wanted to cherish forever (hence my excitedness about the rest of the books in the series!)…but I’m getting ahead of myself…let’s talk about Eli’s brothers and sisters. There’s Beau, the eldest Boudreaux (Eli is the second oldest), the twins – Savannah and Declan, Charlotte (Charly) and Gabby. Each of the siblings have their own unique relationships and seeing them unfold…it’s an indescribable feeling of happiness. Maybe it’s because I’m an only child…maybe it’s because Kristen creates magic between these characters…maybe it’s because it feels so natural and fluid…for whatever reason I cannot help but adore watching this family interact. Seeing them support each other…pick on one another…go through the good, the bad and the ugly…it makes it all the more authentic and genuine.

“What are you saying?” I ask breathlessly.
“I’m saying,” he says and swallows hard, “that you mean the world to me. I’ve been looking for you my whole damn life. I’m uninterested in a life without you.”

The entire book is told from Kate and Eli’s POV…until the Epilogue. *dum dum dummmmm* The lovely surprise is that the Epilogue is told from Rhys O’Shaughnessy’s POV, Kate’s cousin – who is basically like her brother because they were raised together. And guess what that means?!?! His book is next!!! Rhys is not a huge part of Easy Love but he has some very major contributions and given that he’s headed to New Orleans, I’m excited to see what experiencing the Boudreaux’s does to his life. 😉

It’s the little things that make me giddy…and something that makes me very giddy is being able to sit down with two my most favorite characters!  I am absolutely over the moon in love with Cara and Josh and cannot believe I lucked out in getting a chance to pick their brains. Plus I did say I wanted to go to Montana, maybe I can bring some of these Cowboys back with me to Texas and see how they handle it! 😛

I arrive at the Lazy K Ranch where I am greeted by a gorgeous Cara and even-more-delicious-than-I-imagined Josh.  They take me for a wonderful tour around the property and it’s absolutely breathtaking.  When we come back around to the main house there is a lovely picnic set up outside and I’m really considering a move to Montana if this is what is in store for me!

Lisa:    “Well thank you again for sitting down with me, I really appreciate it.”

Cara: “Of course!”

Lisa:    “Shall we get started?”

Josh:  “Sure.”

Lisa:    “Well, I’ll start with Cara – I love love LOVE your relationship with Jill…how exactly did ya’ll meet and become best buds?  I feel like there is a good story there…”

Cara: “Jill and I have been best friends since kindergarten, when she punched a boy for pulling my hair.”

Lisa:    “Awww…how sweet.  What made you want to be a teacher?”

Cara: “Kids are awesome. I love their honesty, even when I don’t necessarily want to hear what they have to say. They’re also challenging.”

Lisa:    “Summarize Josh in one sentence.”

Cara: “Sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen.”

Lisa:    “Well, I definitely can’t argue with that.  Would you ever go back to wearing your hair curly if Josh asked you?   🙂  (very nicely and of course involving chocolate…)”

Cara: “Well, right now it’s at that in-between stage, where I really need to have it straightened again, so it’s wavy. He likes it, but I won’t let it get any curlier. It starts to take on a life of its own.”

Lisa:    “Gotcha – what do your parents think of Josh?”

Cara: “My parents have always loved the King family. They like Josh very much.”

Lisa:    “Well that’s awesome.  Alright Josh, it’s your turn.”

Josh:   “I’m ready.”

Lisa:    “You seem to be fascinated by Cara’s hair…which I kind of love…why is that?” 🙂

Josh:   “Cara has the sexiest damn hair. It’s soft and smells great. I prefer it curly, but she’s under some impression that it should be straight.”

Lisa:    “Best and worst thing about being a twin?”

Josh:   “Best thing: someone to blame shit on. Worst thing: getting blamed for every damn thing.”

Lisa:    “Hmm…good point there!  Summarize Cara in one sentence.”

Josh:   “Everything.”

*Swoon*

Lisa:    “What do you love most about working on the ranch?  Anything you hate or…not particularly care to much for?” J

Josh:   “I love that my family has owned and made the ranch successful for so long. Shoveling shit sucks, but now we have Seth around for that.” 😉

Lisa:    “Poor Seth!  Speaking of…I’m so over the moon for Zach and Seth and their relationship – totally made me cry at the fireworks – how are they doing?”

Josh:   “They seem to be doing great. They’re learning each other and they have their moments, but I think their relationship is the strongest it’s been in a long time.”

Lisa:    “Good to hear.  Okay, let’s do a few questions together – what are your favorite five things about each other? (physical, non-physical, whatever!)”

Cara: “His ass.  His smile.  The way he hugs me.  His love of his family.  He has this thing he does when he…”

Josh immediately cuts her off before she can utter another syllable.

Josh:  “My turn!  The way she looks in my T-shirts.  Waking her up in the morning.  Watching her teach Seth.  Playing word games on the couch.  Her ass.

Lisa:    “Oooh…good lists!  What’s your most annoying pet peeve?”

Cara: “When he doesn’t clean up his whiskers in the sink.”

Josh:  “I love everything about her.”

*Swoon again*

Lisa:    “What do you consider your worst flaw?”

Josh:  “I liked to tug on her hair. I still do.”

Lisa:    “Yes…and I think it’s too cute for words.  Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?”

Cara: “Together.”

Josh:  “For sure. With babies.”

Lisa:    “Sounds good!  Alright…almost done, let’s do a little game of either/or…Soda or Tea?”

I love what just happened to me. Like…more than love it, I live for it. When I don’t just read a book…when it consumes me. Literally sucks me into this lovely little world with characters I can’t get enough of, a story that both intrigues me and entertains me and then when it’s over just spits me out and leaves a happy little book worm in my place. That’s what Loving Cara just did to me…that’s what I can guarantee will happen when I read Kristen Proby…and that’s why I love reading as much as I do. For these moments and these feelings.

Carolina Donovan…I totally have a girl crush on Cara – she is seriously one of the most likeable characters I have ever read. She’s a cute-n-tiny little thing…blonde with hazel eyes that change color based on her mood. She’s down to earth and genuine…kind and sweet….smart with a huge heart and a lovable personality. I loved her passion for teaching and the way she handled Seth, Josh’s nephew. I loved her spunk, tenacity & she’s a sassy! I absolutely loved the relationships she had with the people in this book but my second favorite relationship she has was with her best friend Jill – of course her and Josh were my favorite (duh!). Carebear and Jillybean! (they’re nicknames for each other – hello?!? Awesome…) Even living in two different states they have a very strong bond and I loved it. But…let’s talk about the bond I loved more… 🙂

Joshua King…oh my yummy cowboy goodness – saddle up girls cause Josh is a million different kinds of delicious. He is just hotness personified…and he’s so scrumptious…he needs a list:
1. He’s TDH (Tall…mmmm – 6’3”, yes please! Dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes…and oh-so-handsome!)
2. He’s a cowboy…hot tight Levi’s (not Wranglers!)…sounds good to me
3. He’s a dominating caveman…
4. He has an equally delicious twin
5. He can say the most amazingly swoontastic things that melt me to my core
6. He’s got muscles for days
7. He’s a morning person 🙂
8. He’s got a kind heart
9. He’s got a nice ass that looks amazing in a pair of those Levi’s I mentioned earlier 😉
10. And I saved the best one for last…he’s got a weakness for Cara
Pick just about every characteristic I love in a book boyfriend, shake it up and out would pop Josh King. There just aren’t enough words in the English language for how much I adore him. Everything from his looks to his personality are just spot on perfection in my eyes…more than what my list covers. He’s an awesome brother/uncle/son, he’s an incredible boyfriend to Cara, he’s a hard worker, he’s romantic and thoughtful and sweet…and yes he’s a guy so he does some dumb stuff on occasion but then he turns it around and makes it better. More than better…he makes it perfect. He’s just flat out wonderful and I want to eat all 6’3” of him up!

“No, they’re not weird.” He shakes his head slowly. “I’ve just never seen eyes that go from amber to hazel to green. I wonder what color they are when you’re turned on?”

This book left me ‘a panty-soaked, gasping-for-breath mess.’ And yes…I just used a quote from the book to describe how the book made me feel. 🙂 Cause it fits! Freakin Cara and Josh are deliciously smoking hot…I felt their chemistry and connection in every cell of my being and I craved more of it. They’re not just sexual and primal…which….they were that too and I freaking loved that….but it was more than that. I knew they were attracted to each other which is what hooked me but the fact that they cared about each other is what kept me going. The things they said and their actions pulled me in and kept me begging for more and more of them. I’m like a Cara and Josh fiend now begging for my next fix – they’re that addictive! It doesn’t hurt the fact that they have a certain factor that always is guaranteed to get me. History. It does it every time. I mean…it’s not like they were BFF or anything…but they weren’t perfect strangers. And don’t even get me started on his whole fascination with her hair thing…he used to pull on her curls when they were in school – it’s just the cutest thing ever.

“So tired,” I mutter, and yawn deeply.
“So beautiful.”
“You say that a lot.” I lean back and look up into his dark face. I can see his smile in the moonlight. “I think it a lot.”

Kristen Proby has a knack for writing romance novels that just get me – they have the perfect blend of steam and romance, humor and angst, with characters that I straight up love to bits a pieces and cannot get enough of. All of the characters in this book are so freaking real I feel like I know them. I want to know them. Well…I don’t want to know Misty…in fact, I’d really like to slap that bitch – but everyone else freaking rocks my face off. And speaking of feeling…the love and passion that her characters have for each other is palpable. All of the emotions are – heck the angst with Cara and Josh brought me to tears because I was in such a ball of knots over what was happening. But that’s what her writing does to me…every time. One thing I can almost always guarantee with Kristen’s book is getting sucked into this lull of comfortability. I don’t feel like I’m reading, I feel like I am experiencing and yes there are ups and downs, highs and lows but it’s an insanely pleasurable ride through it all and coming out the other side with that gorgeous HEA to greet me. I cannot get enough of her writing, her flow, her style – the dialogue is spot on, there is a terrific blend of fact and fluff with a healthy sprinkling of this incredible sexiness…it just does it for me.

“I love you, Carolina Donovan, more than I ever thought was possible.” He nudges his nose against mine and then rests his forehead on my forehead, sighing deeply. “I don’t remember what my life was like before you.”

I seriously feel like I’ve been holding my breath for Loving Cara since I heard about it and my expectations were more than met…I am thrilled and positively giddy over what the rest of the Love Under the Big Sky series will bring and might be looking into taking a trip up to Montana. Maybe. 🙂 So now I’ll be anxiously awaiting Seducing Lauren because the tease that is in the back of LC only made me want it more. Ty is a sexy, tatt’d up bad boy lawyer that is making me drool already and I really like Lauren’s attitude.
