Title:  Why Stars Chase the Sun (Forget Me Knot Series Book #1)

Genre:  Contemporary Romance

JADE
Twenty-four hours.
A no-strings-attached adventure with the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen—this was my alcohol-slash-lust-fueled proposal, and given before I could consider the potential ramifications. While his looks alone are enough to make a girl swoon, it’s the rest of him—a perfect balance of mysterious, sweet, and effortlessly charming—that draws me in. Through his cryptic comments and half-answers, he’s quickly become an enigma I’m determined to solve. One way or another, this adventure promises to snap the stagnant, lackluster pattern my love life has been locked in lately.
Is it naïve and a little reckless to think this won’t blow up in my face? Probably.
But the bigger question is the only one I need to answer…
Is the chance to soar among the stars worth the risk of being burned when the sun eventually rises?EMMETT
Love is a mistake I won’t make again.
My rules are simple. Keep things surface-deep. Don’t make plans. And never, ever get attached.
One look at her is all it takes for me to break my first rule.
One conversation with her is all it takes for me to question everything.
Which means accepting her proposal is bound to be a mistake.
She has no idea who I am or what kind of demons I live with, so I tell myself there’s no harm in spending one day with her. But the more I lose myself in her, the more she brings me out of the darkness and into her light, the harder it’ll be to let her go.
When reality comes crashing down on us in the worst way possible, I have to decide between walking away…or risking everything for the woman who breaks all of my rules.

Title:  When Light Leads to You (Forget Me Knot Series Book #2)
Author:  C.R. Ellis
Genre:  Contemporary Romance

JASMINE—
Once upon a time, there was a girl who had a crush on a boy. Eventually, they fell in love. They lived happily ever after.
Except they didn’t. Not even close.
I’m the girl, but that’s not my story.
Once upon a time, I fell for a boy, but we didn’t have a happily ever after. In fact, we crashed and burned. Which turned out to be for the best because it forced me to grow up and realize the only wedding bells in my future are the ones I orchestrate for clients.
For six years I’ve been perfectly content with meaningless, short-lived flings and running from anything that resembles a real relationship.
That boy?
He’s my best friend’s brother, and he’s no longer the boy I fell for—he’s a man I can’t stand.
Oh, and he’s also my new neighbor.

DEAN—
Seemingly overnight, Jasmine Winters went from being my sister’s best friend to being the girl I couldn’t get enough of. But like most good things, it didn’t last.
Things fell apart so suddenly, I’m able to convince myself that summer never happened. At least, I was, until the only distance between us is a hallway instead of a time zone.
Six years ago, I let Jasmine slip through my fingers without an explanation because I was convinced we’d be better off apart. But now that we’re neighbors, our unspoken vow of apathy has unwittingly been shattered.
Our exchanges consist of trading insults and icy stare downs. But in-between, I catch glimpses of the way she used to look at me, glimpses of the girl I fell for years ago.
Things are different now, though. This time…I won’t let her walk away without giving me answers.

love note

Jade,

Life with you is my favorite adventure.

That was the last line of your vows to me, and I’ve carried those words in my heart ever since. And now, next time you see me, I’ll be carrying them in a more permanent way. (Btw, sorry for ‘accidentally’ breaking the frame that held our vows…I needed an excuse to take yours with me to the tattoo parlor. I’ll buy the same frame tomorrow.)

I can’t believe you’ve been my wife—WIFE!—for 96 days now. And I’ve been your husband for 96 days. Before, I never put much thought into the meaning of the word. Now, it’s the title I’m most proud of.

Before you, happiness was just an idea—a luxury I never allowed myself to think about. With you, happiness isn’t optional, it’s a given. And I promise to never take that for granted. To never take youfor granted.

Meeting you was a day I’ll never forget…and not just because you ended up soaking wet. (To be clear though, that is definitely a sight I’ll never get tired of.)

Marrying you was the single best day of my life.

And every day that I wake up next to you is a blessing I’m not sure I’ll ever deserve.

God, I’m a lucky motherfucker.

Technically you haven’t asked, but I owe you a truth. You asked me for one last night, and I almost confessed on the spot (though, the one I gave you about your boobs was 100% true). Dinner last night wasn’t our real Valentine’s Day celebration. There is no work emergency in Boston—I’m still here. Did you actually think I’d spend our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple half a country away from you? Not a chance, pretty girl. I talked to Jas and Elliot, and they’ve got your appointments covered for today. Which means you’re all mine. A car is coming to pick you up at 9…I hope you’re ready for an adventure.

xx,

Emmett

p.s. If you’re wondering what to wear for this adventure, don’t. It’s the kind of adventure where clothes are optional. And by optional, I mean frowned upon. I’d say come in your pajamas, but I’m staring at you sleeping right now and you’re naked, so…maybe just throw on that dress from last night. It’s already ripped (sorry), so really I’m just looking out for your other clothes…

about the author new

C.R. Ellis is a Texas native who writes contemporary romance novels with plenty of drama and humor, and just enough heat to ignite e-readers and paperbacks everywhere. She can almost always be found attached to her laptop with coffee nearby and her two trusty canine sidekicks by her side. When she’s not writing or plotting, she enjoys going to concerts with her sweet husband, dragging him along to see rom-coms at any theater that serves booze, checking off the next destination on her ever-growing bucket list, and trying new recipes.

Her passion for writing stems from her lifelong love of reading, and she often binge-reads entire books in a day. She’s an unapologetic book hoarder, and her paperback collection is rivaled only by her massive shoe collection.
